Bud is newly retired from 40 years in the retail hobby and toy business and is now a full-time artist. He is self-taught and has been oil painting from age 15. His canvasses have taken 1st and 2nd awards in various Toronto art competitions. He has become known for his excellent reproductions of Canada's Group of Seven Impressionists, Casson, Carmichael, Harris, Jackson, McDonald, Thompson. He has painted over 30 canvasses. In doing these Canadian Impressionists, he has captured their various styles and in turn, he has learned to mix their vibrant colours in oil and to apply them. These works have given him the knowledge and confidence to begin painting his own works. The following 12 canvasses are his reproductions of their works. |
